Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI)

The MHP is committed to ensuring equality and diversity in all its operations, including the inclusion of under-represented groups in its participants, investigators, staff, scientific advisory boards and PWLE groups. This commitment is included in the core values of the MHP, to which all investigators, staff, PPIE group and advisors agree to. 

We work to ensure that this commitment is upheld by consistently considering whether people of diverse backgrounds (including ethnicity, sex and gender) are appropriately represented and considered for membership of key committees and roles.

As the MHP develops, we will seek to adopt the principles of the NIHR Race Equality Framework and apply their self-assessment questionnaire in our work. The framework will be applied beyond the parameters of race to other protected characteristics. 

We are committed to collaborating with diverse voices to create an EDI strategy in 2025, that reflects the values and needs of everyone who is part of the platform, including people with lived experience of SMI and researchers.
