The Mental Health Platform is a network of researchers with the shared aim of accelerating research into severe mental illness (SMI) and improving the diagnosis and treatment of those affected. We are funded by UK Research and Innovation.

What we do

We connect researchers who are working to better understand SMI, creating a place to openly exchange ideas and work together.

We champion the voices of people with lived experience of SMI in research. Patient and public contributors helped to design the MHP and they continue to guide the platform.

We’re developing new ways to engage with funders, healthcare providers and industries, with the ultimate goal of developing more effective health policies and treatments for people affected by SMI.
