The Mental Health Platform strongly promotes collaboration between UK and international institutions.
We invite individual researchers and professionals to become associate members of the MHP and join our shared goal to progress research in SMI.

MHP welcomes applications from:
- Researchers and other professionals focused on improving research or treatments for people with SMI.
- Individuals at all career stages employed at academic institutions, the NHS, or third-sector organisations worldwide.
Industry members should apply for Mental Health Platform Industry Alliance membership.
As an MHP Associate Member, you will have access to:
- Engagement with MHP research, industry, and PPIE expertise
- Eligibility to participate in some of our flexible funding award schemes
- Invitation to the MHP Annual Conference and other events/workshops (attendance fees will apply)
- Collaboration opportunities on research projects with MHP Hubs, Early Career Researchers (ECRs), and PPIE members
- Access to MHP-generated data via DATAMIND (subject to data access review requirements)
- Subscription to MHP newsletters
- Access to the MHP Microsoft Teams Channels for networking
- Visibility through a listing on the MHP website
Selection Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Alignment with MHP’s aims and values
- A commitment to excellence in mental health research, lived experience involvement, and/or healthcare
- A collaborative approach to working with the MHP

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed by the MHP Director, in consultation with the Leadership Team (LT) and Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) members.
